Maryland Department of Agriculture to Host FVC/FMNP Trainings

The Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) will host FMNP and FVC certification trainings throughout the spring. To learn more about FMNP and FVC acceptance at farmers markets in Maryland, visit MDA’s website.

Please note: If you took this training previously, it is current for 3 full years. If you are new to the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) or the WIC Fruit & Vegetable Check Program (FVC), or took training prior to 2013, you are required to attend a session to participate in the program this market season. Once you have completed the training it is good for 3 years.

Any session having less than 5 people signed up for it may be cancelled. Cancellation will be determined 48 hours prior to the session, and any other attendees will be notified by email and/or phone. (The only exception will be Garrett & Allegany Counties.)

The sessions are free and take place before or after the lunch hour; lunch is not provided.

April 22- Frederick County: Frederick Business Employment Center, 5340A Spectrum Drive, Frederick 1pm – 3pm.

April 23- Washington County: Washington County Ag Center, 7313 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro 9am – 11am.

May 5- Montgomery County: Department of Economic Development, Agricultural Services Division, 18410 Muncaster Road, Derwood 10am- 12pm. This is a dual MD/DC training.

May 5- Allegany County: Multi-purpose building, Allegany County Fair Grounds, 11490 Moss Avenue, Cumberland 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

May 19- Garrett County: Conference Room, Garrett County Extension Office, 1916 Maryland Hwy, Suite A, Mt. Lake Park 6pm – 8pm.

June 4- Queen Anne’s County: Wye Research & Education Center. 124 Wye Narrows Drive, Queenstown 10am – 12 Noon.

June 8- Queen Anne’s County: Wye Research & Education Center. 124 Wye Narrows Drive, Queenstown 10am – 12 Noon.

June 16- Wicomico County: One Stop Job Market Building. 31901 Tri County Way, Room #025, Salisbury 12:30pm – 2:30pm.
