Orioles Game for Maryland Market Money

by Shelley Brosius

Take me out to the ballgame…take me out with the crowd…

On Tuesday, June 21st, come be a part of the MDFMA crowd at Camden Yards and help us raise funds for our 2016 Maryland Market Money season! The Orioles will be taking on the San Diego Padres starting at 7:05 pm, and for just $20/ticket, you can enjoy the crack of the bat with MDFMA and friends. And even better yet..the first 20 people to buy their tickets will receive a complimentary MDFMA koozie!

Maryland Market Money is a state-wide currency distributed to participants in federal nutrition benefits programs who use their benefits at participating farmers markets in the form of a $1-to-$1 match up to $5 per market day. This match increases customers’ purchasing power to purchase local, nutritious foods directly from local growers and producers at participating markets, helping stretch customer’s food budgets while also directly supporting the local agriculture economy. For every ticket purchased, the Orioles will donate $5 to our program – funds that will go directly to a food-insecure Marylander for the purchase of fresh, local foods from our farming neighbors. Come enjoy America’s pastime for the sake of two great causes: fighting food insecurity and supporting our rich agricultural heritage!
