Let’s Go (to the) O’s!

by Shelley Brosius

Join MDFMA for a fun night out at Camden Yards cheering on the Orioles when they host the Twins on Tuesday, May 23rd @ 7:05pm.

For $20/ticket, you can enjoy the crack of the bat and put your Crab Shuffle prowess to the test, all while helping support MDFMA’s Maryland Market Money program.

**Be sure to fill out this form and purchase your tickets by May 9th. Unfortunately, tickets purchased through other outlets won’t go to supporting MDFMA– and what’s the fun in that?**

What will you be supporting?
Maryland Market Money is a state-wide “match” distributed to farmers market customers who use their federal nutrition benefits at participating markets. These customers can receive up to $5 in match each week, increasing their purchasing power to buy local, nutritious foods directly from local producers. The effect is threefold: the matching dollars help stretch the food budgets of customers in need, bolster local producers’ sales, and increase the viability of farmers markets in areas where access to fresh food is otherwise scarce. For every ticket purchased, the Orioles will donate $5 to our program – funds that will go directly to a food-insecure Marylander for the purchase of fresh, local foods from our farming neighbors. Spend some time at the Yard with us and help us ensure farmers markets remain a central player in the fight against food insecurity!
